Chris Harris Drives the Porsche 991 GT3

June 12, 2013 by Pepper Girl 5 Comments
Screen shot 2013-06-12 at 3.30.15 PM

Chris recently drove the Porsche 918 Spyder and now he was given the chance to drive the new GT3. This isn't DRIVE's normal HD masterpiece as the opportunity to drive the GT3 came together quickly and Chris had to film and produce the film himself. Regardless, it's still extremely well done and informative. I'm amazed at the way Chris throws this Porsche around the streets "somewhere in …

330hp Subaru-Powered 1959 356 Convertible D Open Road Racer

20130417_120355-520x390

There are two large scale car companies in the world that have chosen to embrace the 180 degree flat layout engines; Porsche and Subaru. Where Porsche has placed their flat engines in the back, Subaru has stuck them up in front of their sedans and wagons for years. The flat layout offers a sound unlike any other, as the exhaust pulses tend to be more individual and offset than many other engine …

Is Your Porsche Ready for the Zombie Apocalypse? This Cayenne is!

Rogue 958 - 2

I’ve spent many hours of my life contemplating the ins and outs of a risen undead apocalyptic nightmare scenario.  The Z word gets thrown around a lot these days, and I think I have a fairly healthy grasp of the genre.  In those hours, whether amongst friends or in late night solo contemplation, I’ve debated and pondered all of the facets surrounding a fantastic zombie story: Where did it …

Top Gear Shuts Down LA for Drag Race in a Porsche 911 GT2 RS!

June 3, 2013 by Pepper Girl 4 Comments
Tanner Foust drag racing a Porsche 911 GT2 RS

Tanner Foust takes the Porsche 911 GT2 RS for a spin in the closed streets of LA, culminating in a drag race against - classic muscle car - the Chevy Nova, and the Dodge Viper SRT10. Personally, I'm not a fan of this chopped up video editing style. Just show me the damn car driving already. None of this artsy fartsy crap. The good news is, the video gets down to some serious fun near the end and …

Last week was a busy one for the Porsche social media team. Besides preparing for the upcoming launch of the Cayman Code app, Porsche release 5 new videos on their YouTube channel. We don't always cover them the minute they come out (some don't really pertain to our audience) but we always like to catch up and post them when time allows. Porsche Rennsport Australia Festival 2013 Great …

Calling all Cars! Calling all Cars!

the horn on a 1968 Porsche Police Car 911

We’ve all been there, trapped like a worm on the red and blue flashing hook.  We’ve all waited with bated breath as the ensnaring patrolman approaches.  We’ve all been subject to the nervous fidgeting and sweated brow that accompanies a traffic citation.  Chances are high that some of us have been pulled over IN a Porsche before, though chances are much lower that any of us have been …

27 New Pictures and Updated Technical Specs on the Porsche 918 Spyder

May 20, 2013 by Pepper Girl Leave a Comment
Porsche05._MG_1139

Just last week DRIVE published a video review of the 918 by Chris Harris that was long on detail but not necessarily a glowing recommendation for the new Porsche supercar. While we think Chris made some good points in his commentary we also felt he contradicted himself a few times too. Regardless, if you haven't yet watched that video, we highly recommend you take a few minutes and do so. Not only …

Celebrating a milestone at Porsche: 100,000th Panamera leaves the factory

May 19, 2013 by Pepper Girl Leave a Comment
100000th Porsche Panamera

Last week, on the 15th of May, the Porsche plant in Leipzig, Germany, produced the 100,000th Panamera. Not bad considering it was introduced just four short years ago. The milestone vehicle is a new Panamera S E-Hybrid in “rhodium-silver metallic”. This vehicle, the world’s first plug-in hybrid of the luxury class, made its debut before a world audience at the Shanghai Auto Show at …
