Tweet
August 31, 2011 by Pepper Girl 12 Comments

Take one 1962 Porsche 356, add a 32" flat screen, blue ray, 8 speakers, retractable table, seating for 4, propane cooking grill and a whole bunch of time, imagination and other accessories and you end up with the ultimate gift for the Porsche owner who has everything.

Even better, this Porsche BBQ comes on its own trailer for you to take to your next Porsche event. Imagine showing up at the next PCA Corral with this in tow. It gives a whole new meaning to Porsche tailgating.

Porsche 356 BBQ Found on Ebay

Check out the pictures below for even more of this awesome creation or check the ebay listing for complete details. As of last look, the auction had ended WITH NO SALE even after racking up 31 bids and a $7100 high bid. To the folks at PCNA, if you're reading, you should pick this up and use it at the hospitality tents! Just be sure to invite us to the inaugural cookout. :-)

    I own the CARBQ and will be running it after Labor day weekend. Look for it on ebay under Porsche 356 cars then. If you’re interested in purchasing this, you can use the contact form on this site and your info will be forwarded to me. This BBQ has been a 10 year work in progress. I have enjoyed the creative avenue it has allowed me to have. My Passion is owning, driving and restoring Porsche’s!!

    This should be the image on Webster’s Pictorial Dictionary for the phrase “only in America”

    This would have made a real hit with the purists at Parade. Perhaps would have even gotten sold.

    @Chuck,

    I wonder how true “purists” would receive it. On Twitter, a number of folks thought it was pure blasphemy to cut up a 356 this way. However, without knowing the whole story, I think it’s a great way for an otherwise rusted/tired 356 to get another life…

    @Stefanos,

    If that’s true, then this 356 (http://porschepurist.com/cars/tuned-porsches/1955-porsche-356-a-silver-bullet-custom-hot-rod/) should get labeled, “only in Australia”. Kind of “Mad Max” like.

    This is mark the owner of the CarBQ, the front end of this car was smashed off in the early 80′s and the floors were rusted out. I saw it at a junk yard on top of a pile of other cars and saved what was left of it from the crusher! I had intensions of saving the car and making a whole car out of it in my life time but I could never find a front half with out destroying a good car for a Donner for my half. It’s very hard to find a good front half due them always be wrecked in the front so plenty of good rear ends to choose from, so being a metal fabricator I made it into a BBQ so it would be a one of a kind. To all you Porsche Purist all I can say is the next time I have the BBQ fired up, come on over and have a burger and beer on me.

    But the grilling should be done on the twin grill(s)!!

    I think it is a great use of a car that didn’t have a chance to ever get a true restoration.

    @Petah,

    Very true! It would be great if Mark, the creator, shaped the grilling area to match the twin grille look.

    @David,

    Exactly!

    It’s always hard to see old classics like the 356 permanently taken off the road and put to pasture/crusher. This is such a neat way to keep the Porsche spirit going — and really, between this and some boxy tailgating trailer, which would you prefer a Cayenne hauling about? Mark, what a great project!
