Our Favorite Porsches On Ebay: Volume 100

We’ve been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for nearly three years now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. This being the 100th edition marks a huge milestone for our eBay hunting. Hopefully you’ve enjoyed our curated look at the Porsche market. Keep in mind, some of these Porsches could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

INTERESTED IN HAVING YOUR PORSCHE FEATURED HERE

Every other week, we feature 5 of our favorite Porsches on eBay. That post is sent out to our mailing list of more than 17,000 Porsche owners and fans and is seen by 10s of thousands of other readers who visit our site directly. If you’re selling a Porsche on eBay and would like to see it featured here, just shoot us an email with the details and we’ll be back in touch. Otherwise, feel free to check out all the other eBay listings we have on our Porsches for sale pages.

1. Scottie Pippen’s 1988 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.8L Custom For Sale

This listing leaves us with way more questions than we have answers. The car has clearly been heavily modified with a wild aftermarket set of bumpers, and the engine in this 930 has been punched out to a massive 3.8-liters. The seller claims over 93,000 dollars in receipts, which sounds feasible. The interior is a bit of a period-correct disaster, but we think we could even look past that with the kind of power this car has to be pumping out. Less than 50,000 miles on the odometer, it would seem that the famous Chicago Bull baller hadn’t spent much time behind the wheel of this car. Low miles and wonky interior notwithstanding, we’d love to take this car for a spin around the block, or perhaps around the country.

2. 1992 Porsche 968 For Sale

Having just spent the weekend at Radwood, the car show for 80s and 90s cars, we fell back in love with Porsche’s transaxle cars. When you have an affinity for such, it would make sense to lust after the best model of the line. In this case, we saw a gorgeous low-mile 968 Coupe and decided that the day would soon come where we needed to purchase one. In the meantime, it’s perhaps best served to spend our time searching for examples on eBay for hours on end. This white coupe appears to be in relatively good shape, and considering this is a 6-speed car with factory limited slip and 17″ cup wheels, the just-shy-of-twelve-grand asking price seems on the low side. This should be a good driver-grade car for any Porsche fan.

3. 1976 Porsche 911 Kremer 935 Race Car For Sale

This is allegedly a real-deal Kremer racer that spent most of its life racing in Germany at the hands of privateers. In the 1990s, the car was sold off to Willi Rabl, who won two European Hillclimb championships in the car. The original 3.4L engine was pulled out and swapped for a 800-horsepower IMSA-spec 3-liter. It isn’t every day that a Kremer and DP prepared 911 racer comes up for sale, especially one that has claimed championship laurels. It sure doesn’t hurt that this one is painted up in Vaillant livery.

4. Forest Green 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo S For Sale

This 993 Turbo S is allegedly one of only 183 built in this gorgeous Forest Green color. We’ve not seen one this color in person, but it sure looks right in photographs. With the big yellow calipers and bright silver twist wheels, the green really pops. There is something about a fast sports car in an innocuous color that really gets us excited. This Porsche 933 would be much less likely to be truly noticed on the street because it isn’t shouty or brash, but it has plenty of ‘go’ to back it up.

5. 1975 Porsche 914-4 2.0L For Sale

We never thought we’d see the day when big rubber bumper 914s were selling for big money. For years the ’75 and ’76 cars were considered useless because they came saddled with large black beaks and butts that weigh a ton. We’ve seen countless number of these converted to early chrome-style bumpers or fitted with a variety of fiberglass bumper treatments with dramatically improved aesthetic result. In recent months we’ve heard the somewhat massaged term used for these cars become “aero bumpers” to give them a bit more appeal. This particular model looks really nice, but we’re still not sure we can justify the twenty-thousand dollar price tag.
