We’ve been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for over two years now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. We recently started publishing our picks once a week instead of our prior bi-weekly schedule, in an effort to bring you more exciting Porsche auction action. Check back often for different cars! This week, I changed up our picks a little bit. I spent some time thinking about track toys, plus we featured a story on replicas so, for the most part, my picks reflect that. Keep in mind, some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.
1. 1977 Porsche 911 S For Sale
For some, the ’77 911 was one of the less desired model years for a number of reason. Not least amongst those reasons were the tendancy for problems with the cylinder head studs. This listing makes no mention if they’ve been swapped or repaired, so we would definitely look more closely into that. Otherwise, this looks like a nice clean example wearing its original color of Minerva Blue, but not original paint, with a lovely Cork interior. I’m on the fence about the custom dashboard, but the leather does look to be of good quality. The only place this 911 seems to show its age is the patina on the steering wheel. Otherwise it looks to be a very nice drive. Get a PPI, negotiate the price and enjoy!

2. 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 For Sale
We’re not usually fans of showcasing Porsches that are selling for higher than their original sticker price. However, this GT4 isn’t too far off the mark. While limited in its options, it does seem to be nicely built for its intended purpose (that of a track day weapon) and we love the color combination with the wheels in black. Mileage is low, so if you don’t feel like waiting for your own build, this might just be an option for you.

3. 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster Replica For Sale
Given this week’s story on the replica 550 Spyder we decided to see what eBay had on offer this week. Surprisingly, there wasn’t as much as we expected. We’re not overly familiar with this particular build, but from the pictures and descriptions it looks interesting. Note that the engine in this particular model is not their highest powered options and for reasons they don’t explain, the odometer is in kilometers. Other than that, it’s a nice looking little “outlaw” and if the build quality is reasonable, it seems to be a low cost entry for a fun weekend toy.

4. 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder Replica For Sale
We may have featured Seduction Motorsports Spyder this week in another story, but Beck has been building replicas for as long as I can remember. This particular example is a “Special Edition, INC.”. Built to look as close to the original 550 as possible. Rather than have us go into all the details that make this Spyder so close to the real thing, read through the seller’s description and you decided if it’s worth the asking price.

5. 2016 Porsche Cayman Clubsport For Sale
We started with a road going Cayman meant for use at the track so what better way to end this week’s segment than with a Cayman built specifically for the track. The listing for this Cayman Clubsport leaves us scratching our heads a bit? Did the buyer purchase it and soon regret the decision? Was it too much car for them or not enough? Either way, this particular Cayman Clubsport only has 735 miles on it (less than 8 hours of track time according to the listing) and has never been off-track or suffered any type of contact. It’s nicely optioned with the air jack system, Recaro race buckets and the parts package. On top of that, the owner is throwing in a number of additional parts including two new sets of tires (one for set of slicks and one set of rain tires). full camera system and MoTeC Engine Management system, just to name a few.

I'm curious about those 550 replicas. How accurate is their feel? What, if anything, would be different between them and the genuine article? If I didn't care about provenance would they give a pretty realistic feel of the real thing?
