For all of the eccentric and eclectic Porsche collectors and enthusiasts out there, we’ve decided that it is about time someone aggregated the best of the best that eBay has to offer in the Porsches-for-sale department. We’ve tracked down five excellent options for Porsche folks to purchase today, including some exceedingly rare fare, some super quick track monsters, A DIY-dream (perhaps nightmare), a blue-chip collector special, and an up-and-comer vintage collector car that could prove a great investment. I guess you’ll just have to determine which is which!
1. 1994 Porsche 964 Strosek Mega-Widebody Speedster For Sale
Strosek was never exactly known for making beautiful cars, but there is no arguing that the cars they produced were hate-it-or-love-it polarizing. In the case of this 964 ‘Mega-Widebody’ Speedster, I’d probably fall more toward the ‘love it’ end of the spectrum, if only for the fact that this car is practically conjured directly from distilled 1990s. It’s over the top, it’s gaudy, and it’s absolutely eye catching. Just throw on a slightly oversized 3-piece brown leisure suit with pleat front pants, get a Joey Tribbiani over-gelled haircut, crank up Whitney Houston’s ‘The Bodyguard’ original soundtrack, and throw back a Crystal Pepsi. It’s 1994 all over again!

2. Pair Of Isringhausen-Built Porsche Cayman R Racing Cars For Sale
Have you ever felt the need to have an insanely competitive racing car to take out on track? If you answered yes, one of these Porsches would be perfect for you. While they were originally built for the Intercontinental Trophy Cup series, they are also able to run in PCA GTB1 or you can just use it as a super fast weekend track-day car. If you’re the master of heel-toe downshifts and prefer to row your own gears, then the silver car is for you, as it’s got Porsche’s excellent 6-speed manual gearbox equipped. If your ultimate goal is to click off fast-lap after fast-lap as consistent as possible with minimal effort, then the white car is the one for you, as it has one of the worlds best transmissions, the always excellent PDK flappy-paddle gearbox. While you’re at it, buy both and rent the one you don’t want out to some other enterprising racing enthusiast. For just a little more than the cost of a brand new 991 Turbo S Cabriolet, you could have your very own racing team.

3. Low Mileage 1996 Porsche 993 Turbo For Sale
The 993 Turbo has been an excellent performer in the Porsche collector market for a handful of years now, and they continue to exchange hands in the six figures. This car appears to be an excellent example of what is probably the best street-driving 993 money can buy. It was the first 911 Turbo model to be equipped with all wheel drive, and it was powerful enough that it really needed it. It was the last 911 Turbo to be air-cooled. It’s one of the most attractive bodystyles ever. What’s not to like?
This car is finished in a gorgeous Midnight Blue with rare (and frankly gorgeous) factory color matched Turbo Twist wheels. Normally I do not like the twist wheels at all, even on a 993, but in this case, the color matched blue wheels really make the red of the brake calipers pop out, and helps to accentuate the Porsche crest center caps. The interior is also a desirable shade of Cashmere beige. Also, with only just over 21,000 miles on it, this Porsche has plenty of life left in it, and is low enough mileage that it’ll fit in any collection without any issues. At a hundred twenty four thousand dollars, this Porsche may or may not have plenty of room to appreciate, but they aren’t making any more of them.

4. Sand Beige Short-Wheelbase 1967 Porsche 912 For Sale
Speaking of ‘not making them anymore’, behold this beautiful early short-wheelbase 912 coupe. Sand Beige has to be one of the best colors that Porsche ever painted these early cars in, though it’s hard to find a bad color for one of these. This car has been in the current owner’s family from brand new, which is a rarity, and surely means that the Porsche will have plenty of cool stories to hear about. An interesting aesthetic choice on this car is the complete trim blackout. From the window surrounds to the Fuchs wheels, and bumper guards, everything has been treated to a coat of black. It isn’t original, but it’s a small touch that completely changes the way this Porsche looks. Just for personal preference, I’d probably get the headlight surrounds coated in the same matte black as the rest of the trim, as I don’t particularly care for the body colored trim that the seller has elected for.
Either way, this 912 is a great looking Porsche that could be an excellent weekend and occasional commuter driver for any vintage enthusiast. It’s lightweight, rev-happy, perky, and tons of fun, even if it is a little bit pokey. Pick up this 912 and it will only continue to increase in value. Driveable 912s are becoming fewer and farther between, as they continue to get snatched up, restored to high-heaven, and then hawked to a collector for upwards of 50,000 dollars. Pick up this tastefully modified ‘twelve, and have yourself a whole lot of air-cooled long-hood fun. Similar year 911s are now six-figure cars, so this is a comparative bargain. A small price to pay to look this good!

5. Flood Salvage 2005 Porsche Carrera GT For Sale
This car is the unequivocal wild-card of the group. With an unmet reserve of $200,000, this Porsche is probably overpriced. At that 200K price, though, you could begin to make a case for it. At a minimum, all of the electrical components in the car will be suspect, and likely the entire wiring loom will need to be replaced. The ad says that the engine is seized, which sounds like water in the cylinders at best, and requires a complete engine rebuild at worst. It gets worse, because the windshield is cracked, and it doesn’t come with the removable roof. That said, in parts alone, it’s worth at least the asking price. It would be extremely sad to see this gorgeous car parted out because of a little water damage, and we’d vastly prefer to see it rebuilt to its former glory. If you have the means, are committed to doing a lot of the work yourself, and can live with a salvaged title, then you could potentially squeak this car back to live for less than 300K (assuming a 200K purchase price), which is about 100K below the existing CGT market. Where else can you get a carbon-chassis, V10 screaming, analog race-car for the street for that kind of scratch?
Sometimes you just have to be a hero and save a poor lost old soul from perdition. Sacrifice your free time, your pocket book, and your mental state to resurrect this beauty. She’ll reward you tenfold when the process is complete, that I can promise you.
