Our Favorite Porsches On Ebay This Week: Volume 65

We’ve been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for over two years now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. We recently started publishing our picks once a week instead of our prior bi-weekly schedule, in an effort to bring you more exciting Porsche auction action. Check back often for different cars! This weekend, I spent a lot of time with the 912 Registry at their West Coast Rendezvous event, and fell in love with the little four-cylinder Porsche all over again. Keeping that in mind, I found a quartet of 912s that are ready for new owners, as well as a rare and exciting 911 for you this week. Keep in mind, some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

1. 1967 Porsche 912 For Sale

Bahama Yellow is such a beautiful color, and this 912 pulls it off so well. With a set of nice Chrome KPZ wheels and a roof rack, this car is ready for cruising pretty much anywhere. The advertisement claims that this is “arguably one of the finest restored 912 examples” and would be suitable for concours display. Based on the photos, I would say that could be an accurate statement, and for the asking price, it had better be an exceptional example. Currently sitting in Orange County, CA, this 912 is being offered for a Buy-It-Now just shy of 6 figures. I’ve seen an upward trend on these lately, but that sure is a lot of cash outlay. Is it worth it for you to have a super nice 912? This one could be worth a second glance.

2. 1976 Porsche 912E For Sale

With just 21,000 miles on the odometer, this chocolate treasure has led a pampered life, and looks straight out of 1976 as a result. Just under 2100 912Es were built, and though they are rare they have long been the unloved one in Porsche’s historical lineup. With a 2-liter Volkswagen type 4 engine, they don’t produce a lot of power, and they don’t exactly sound inspiring, but they still maintain a lot of the 911’s fabulous driving dynamics. The asking price on this car is nearly 70-thousand dollars, which seems a bit rich for my liking, but it’s also an exquisite example of one of the rarest series-production Porsches in history. What is your take?

3. 1966 Porsche 912 Outlaw For Sale

This outlaw 912 is an acquired taste, and I’m not sure I’ve found it yet. I really like the bright lime green and the yellow headlamps, but the flat black is too much for my liking, and the Porsche side scripts are well too far up on the doors. It’s about 90% awesome, but I would have to change a few things if this were my Porsche. Honestly, I’d rather the Urban Outlaw wheels to be completely black without the green accent, and I would probably have retained the 912’s four-cylinder engine for this build. It’s probably easier to resell as a flat-six car, but this could have been a really cool 912 instead of just another outlaw. For $50,000, though, I bet this car is a rocketship as well as a bargain.

4. 1967 Porsche 912 Slant Nose Conversion “Needs Help” For Sale

Where does one even begin with this Porsche? Obviously it needs quite a bit of work. Looking through the photos in the auction listing, there are giant holes in the floor pan, meaning there is likely rust damage all throughout the rocker panels and the front suspension pan as well. Beyond that, this Porsche has been converted to a 6-cylinder with a 2.7 liter engine from a mid-year car. And then there is the strange 80s fiberglass bodywork. This car was once a gorgeous sand beige 912, and someone transformed it into this monster. Are you up to the task of resurrecting it?

5. 1984 Porsche 911 Kremer 935 G5 Street 2 For Sale

Our final listing isn’t a 912 at all, but rather a street-legal race car of sorts. Kremer Racing took a street 930 and upped the ante with this one, jumping power to 380 horses, and then added the most ostentatious bodywork possible. Based on their 935 racecar aerokit, the G5 Street 2 looks all business. This car only has 19,000 original miles, is located in Beverly Hills, and is ready to join your Porsche collection.
