Our Favorite Porsches On Ebay: Volume 113

We’ve been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for nearly three years now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. This week we’re focusing on subsets of Porsche enthusiasm with a tribute, a safari car, an art car, an outlaw, and a ‘Sports Purpose’ build. Hopefully you’ve enjoyed our curated look at the Porsche market. Keep in mind, some of these Porsches could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

INTERESTED IN HAVING YOUR PORSCHE FEATURED HERE?

Every other week, we feature 5 of our favorite Porsches on eBay. That post is sent out to our mailing list of more than 17,000 Porsche owners and fans and is seen by 10s of thousands of other readers who visit our site directly. If you’re selling a Porsche on eBay and would like to see it featured here, just shoot us an email with the details and we’ll be back in touch. Otherwise, feel free to check out all the other eBay listings we have on our Porsches for sale pages.

1. 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Safari

I saw this Safari’d watercooled Porsche floating around Los Angeles when I was down there for Luft V. This is pretty cool, if you ask me. The olive green satin color is painted on, not a wrap. And the car has been legitimately lifted a full two inches over factory. A roof rack, a light bar, and some rally flaps have this thing looking properly off-road ready. Is it worth more than twice what a regular 996 is going for right now? Maybe. That’s still a bargain in the Porsche world, and it’s way cheaper than a G-body Safari goes for these days. If you’re so inclined, you could probably replicate this for a lot less, to be honest.

2. 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo ‘Splatter’ Art Car

This is one wild-looking 996 Turbo that people won’t soon forget having seen. While the exterior color is just a simple wrap job, it’s a good looking color mash up, and gives the car an exciting visual aesthetic. Moreover, this Porsche has been modified up to over 700 horsepower. It’s got a pair of Garrett GT358R turbos, a double stacked intercooler setup, custom headers, custom muffler, and way more to get that figure. If you want to go fast, and look really fast in the process, this is the right 996 for you.

3. 1970 Porsche 914/6 Outlaw

914s are a ton of fun to drive, even with minuscule power outputs. They’re extremely well balanced and provide an experience unmatched by anything else sold in the early 70s. Throw in a 260-horsepower modified 3-liter from a 911 SC, and you’ve got a powerhouse convergence of lightweight, power, and balance. Because it’s so light, this Porsche ‘Teener has a similar power-to-weight ratio as a brand new GT3 RS, which is never a bad thing. Given the choice, I’d have this 914 for a track outing than any 911. What about you?

4. 1985 Porsche 911 Cabriolet Carrera RSR Tribute

After all these years of being a self-avowed Porsche fanatic, I’ve never seen anything quite like this so-called RSR Tribute, but I instantly love it. Everything below the beltline screams RSR, with huge flares, giant wheels, and an almost 934-esque look. Above the door handles, however, the drop-top and flag mirrors scream ’80s so hard it hurts. It’s incredible, and you’ll probably never see another one like it.

5. 1975 Porsche 911 S ‘Sports Purpose’ 3.0L-swap

Perhaps my personal favorite of the five listed here, this 1975 Porsche 911 has received a big power and reliability bump from a 3-liter Carrera engine swap, which allegedly received a recent rebuild. It’s also had a limited slip differential and a custom exhaust. So not only does this car have a ton of performance, but it’s also significantly lighter than the Carrera from whence the engine came. Toss on some SC flares, a Carrera tail, and some lightweight two-piece wheels, and you’ve got a nice little track runner.
