Our Favorite Porsches on eBay: Volume 77

We’ve been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for over two years now, and we’ve seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. This week’s mix is a collection of a forced induction bargain, one of the cheapest 911s we could find, an air-cooled cabriolet whose pricing we’re unsure of, an Outlaw that might be just a bit too personalized and an off-roading machine we’re curious to watch and see if it becomes collectible. Keep in mind, some of these Porsches could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

1. 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe For Sale

The 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo for sale here had an original MSRP north of $160k. Today, with just a little over 31,000 miles on the clock, the seller is looking for an offer in the $67k range. That’s damn near 2/3’s depreciation! What’s the catch? The only thing we can see is that it has a Tiptronic transmission. However, don’t knock it if you’ve never driven one. In fact, use it as a negotiating point. Get a PPI and if this Porsche is a clean as it looks in the pictures, you could find yourself the owner of a true “supercar” for very short money. Best of all, the seller claims it has a bumper to bumper warranty good until January of 2019 or nearly 66,000 miles (which ever comes first). Depending on the quality of the warranty, that’s a MASSIVE added value.

2. 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera For Sale

People are always asking us to feature more “affordable” Porsches in our eBay listings, so this one is for all of you. How about $16k for a 80,000 mile 911? Sure, it has some “known issues” but reading through the listing they’re minor. More importantly, the list of service work done in the last year alone is pretty impressive. Most importantly, the clutch, RMS and IMS bearing have all been replaced within the past few months and that’s just a tiny fraction of the work done. Don’t get us wrong, this 911 is a bit beat up, but the mechanics and service work sound impressive, at least in digital format. Have it looked over by a competent Porsche mechanic and you just might have yourself one hell of a cheap 911 daily driver or the starting point of a track obsession.

3. 1997 Porsche 9993 Carrera Cabriolet For Sale

Does this 993 seem inexpensive to you or is it just me? Sure, it’s just a “standard” 993 Carrera Cabriolet, but the seller claims it has just 12,936 original miles. Depending on owners, provenance and service history (none of which are mentioned in the listing) this has all the hallmarks or potential of being “collectible”. Don’t get me wrong, they made a lot of these 993s, so it isn’t rare, but you just don’t see many in Zenith Blue and finding anything air-cooled with this low mileage usually commands a very steep premium.

4. 1982 Porsche 911 Targa Outlaw For Sale

Usually, when I think of an “Outlaw” build I don’t think Targa. For some reason, you just don’t see many of them. However, the one for sale here on Ebay seems to be well done. According to the seller, this particular 911 SC started its life as a weekend autocross and track car (again, a strange choice for a Targa) and was then “repurposed” into a turnkey street Outlaw. The build sheet seems pretty impressive and includes a complete top-end rebuild (original miles are unknown, but the seller claims rebuilt engine has just 1,400 miles on it). The only problem with reselling an Outlaw build is the fact that they are so personal. However, maybe this strikes your fancy and you want someone else to have done all the work for you. If that’s the case, this 911 should fit the bill.

5. 2010 Porsche Cayenne Transsyberia For Sale

The standard Cayenne is a capable off-road machine (with the right tires) all by itself. The limited edition Cayenne TransSyberia version takes things up a notch or two. To me, these Cayennes are sleeper collectibles. Limited to just 600 made, each Transsyberia came with air suspension and Porsche’s Active Suspension Management as standard. In addition, they were fitted with standard front and rear skid plates and roof lights were a no cost option on those that didn’t have a moonroof. Unfortunately, the one for sale here doesn’t appear to have the roof lights, or the optional off-road package, which included a a variable locking rear differential, rock rails, a reinforced engine-bay guard and additional protection for the fuel tank and rear axle. We don’t see these for sale often, so it’s hard to comment on price (original MSRP was just north of $70k) but we might just start paying attention to them once again.
