Perfect Paddock Pair: Porsche 934/5 & VW Bus Still Available

Admit it. When you attended your last track day, you were green with envy when you looked down the paddock and saw “That Guy”. You know, the guy with the perfect truck, trailer and racecar. Now is your chance to even the score. Bonhams’ offered this Martini liveried 1976 934/5 and matching 1977 VW Transporter last Sunday and both were a “no sale”. Quick, break out your checkbook and contact Bonhams!

The 1976 934/5 is chassis number 9306700478 and is an ex-Kramer car campaigned by Edgar Doren, also known as “Mr. Porsche” for his affinity with the Porsche marque. The Wagenpass for 9306700478 shows three races: International ADAC-Eifelrennen at the Nurburgring on May 1st 1977; Flugplatzrennen, Mainz-Finthen (round 5 of the Deutsche Automobil-Rennsport Meisterschaft) on May 20th 1977 and the 4th ADAC-Rundstreckenrennen at Diepholz Airport in Germany.

If your checkbook balance has enough zeroes, this is your opportunity to own a legitimate Kremer Racing 934/5. This is not a chance that presents itself every day and ownership of this Porsche pretty much guarantees your acceptance in every vintage racing event and gathering you can imagine. Not to mention the opportunity to shine brightly in the paddock and on track at your next event!

Offered in the same Bonhams’ auction was this 1977 Volkswagen T2 Transporter, chassis number 2372119186. The VW Transporter is a Type 2 and is finished in the iconic Martini livery. The donor VW was a perfect rust-free example then repainted in white, features a sunroof and tow-bar, power is derived from a 2.1 liter T4 engine from the Porsche 914. The powerplant breathes via twin 40mm carburetors and is estimated to produce 110 horsepower, enough power to tow your new Martini to your next track day if you are brave enough!

Good luck with negotiations, hope to see you at RENNSPORT VI!
