As we told you earlier, Jerry Seinfeld is selling a few cars. These aren’t the run-of-the-mill Saabs that his character drove on his television show, these are real-deal collector-grade Porsche classics. In preparation for next month’s Amelia Island auctions, Gooding & Co is playing on Jerry’s star power to promote the cars, as obviously it is mutually beneficial for the parties involved. With prior collections, they’ve rolled out videos for each of the cars involved, and it’s likely that there will be more videos of this type coming soon. That isn’t to say that this one isn’t worth watching. It’s great!
Done in the style of his now-famous “Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee”, this video depicts RSK 718-019 with Mr. Seinfeld aboard. He gives a few reasons why this car is special, and takes you for a virtual tour of this magnificent automobile. I have a penchant for Porsche’s early work, especially anything involving Fuhrmann’s glorious four-cam. Everything about this Porsche, from the sound it emits (sort of like a lions roar combined with the sound a zipper makes, if that makes any sense), to the expertly sculpted aluminum bodywork is near-perfect. It’s a sharp-nose and tensed haunches on wheels, which as Jerry mentions, makes this Porsche still look modern. I just can’t get over that sound, that alone must be worth a million dollars, right?

Jerry Seinfeld is known to be an avid Porsche collector, why is getting rid of a few of his best cars? Could it be that it's because the classic car market has hit its peak and he is cashing in on the exorbitant prices that classics have attained in the last couple of years?
How do you know they are a "few of his best cars"? They are definitely a nice collection all on their own, but without knowing everything in his collection it's hard to say. Besides I hardly doubt the sale of these cars will materially impact his overall net worth.
Some of Jerry's kids up for sale include this 718 RSK, two 356 Speedsters, a Can-Am 917/30, a 962, and a '74 IROC 911... so yeah, I think it's safe to say they are a few of his best cars :-)
If those are the "runts" of the litter, the rest must be awesome!!
Yes, but how many other Speedsters, 917s, 962s and 911s does he have in his collection?
