For the United States, the new Macan S will start at a base price of $49,900 ($51,095 with destination charge), and the Macan Turbo will start at $72,300 ($73,495 with destination charge). In Canada, the S starts at $54,300, and the Turbo will set a Canadian buyer back a full $82,200 (destination charges have not yet been set for the Canadian market). The North American markets have not been announced to receive the Macan Diesel.
The pricing schedules seem to be spot on, and aimed to be competitive, not only within the compact SUV market, but also careful to keep the Cayenne in mind. The base Cayenne’s starting price of $49,600 places it in direct price competition with the Macan S, with the Macan only slightly more powerful, yet significantly smaller. The Macan Turbo splits the difference between the Cayenne S and the Cayenne GTS, a perfect sweet spot for that car, if you ask me.
The interesting comparison, though, is when comparing the Macan to it’s contemporary competition. The Audi SQ5 is slightly less powerful than the Macan S, yet is priced a couple thousand dollars higher. BMW’s X3 xDrive35i is a bit less expensive at $44,900, but falls short on size and power in comparison with the Macan S. For the time being, there doesn’t seem to be any direct market competition for the Macan Turbo.

I have two thoughts.
1. Going the way of American car manufacturers in their hey day - too many brands & too many models.
2. You don't knock the trapper w/ the skins on the wall - and Porsche does have skins on the wall. Good Luck!
