There’s no doubt the new Porsche Macan will be a success. In fact, reports have already surfaced that Porsche is considering increasing production to meet the unprecedented demand. Now, an “automotive manipulator” (someone who likes to chop cars through digital alterations and renderings) by the name of Theophilus Chin, created his vision of what a 3-door Macan S might look like.
Would You Buy One?
Autocar recently compared the Macan to the Range Rover Evoque and found the Range Rover wanting. One of the reasons, other than overall ride, was lack of space. So, given that the Macan is already smaller than the Cayenne and the 3 door would get even smaller, would you buy one? Would looks alone make you do it, or would practicality get in your way?

Yes, most likely be very interested in 3 door Macan.
YES! Were and when can I get ONE?
Hmmmmm. Let's see. A 3-door Turbo with 350-400hp offering almost as good performance as a 991, but with AWD and decent ground clearance for winter driving, and room for some cargo and a real spare tire for well under $100k? What's not to like?
Absolutely nothing. We're thinking of switching out the Cayenne for the Macan Turbo. If a 3-door ever made it's way on to the market, we would jump on it (assuming the dogs would fit).
I would buy one in a heart beat...we're a two car family - currently we have a 22013 Boxster and a domestic crossover...we need the versatility of crossover or utility vehicle...we were actually waiting for the diesel of the Macan too come next year...but the three oor would work for me!
In the preliminary stages of building a Macan S for delivery in April 2015. We would definitely be interested in a 3 door Macan. Probably not this time since it is probably 12 to 24 months from production. But, just to answer the question - how soon would the 3 door be a reality. Might be worth waiting for it. The picture of it is awesome.
Hank,
Anything we told you on timing would be purely guess work on our part. Sorry...
