At the end of March Porsche invited a select group of journalists to the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, TX to spend some quality time with the production version of the 918 Spyder. Among the activities enjoyed by all was a game of lead/follow involving Patrick Long in a 911 Turbo S and the media in the 918s. While track time in the 918 was probably the highlight of the weekend, getting to play with its launch control function must be a close second. Here are a few videos showcasing the sound and feel of the 918 as it hits 60 miles an hour in under 3 seconds (sorry for the quality, it was an impromptu shoot with an iPhone).
