In the video below, Jay Leno interviews Frank Walliser (Head of the Porsche 918 Spyder project) at the Quail Lodge on the Monterey Peninsula. Walliser walks Jay through the new super sports hybrid that Porsche says will act as the “gene pool” for its sports cars of the future. While I’m not a huge fan of Jay’s interviewing style (I think he was either recovering for a cold or just getting one when this was filmed) and there’s no new information in the video, we do get to hear the 918 transition from all electric to full combustion mode (the only other time we’ve heard this is when Chris Harris drove it) and the noise is raucous to say the least. Jump ahead to 7:58 to listen as Jay drives the Porsche 918 Spyder
