Porsche 918 Configurator is Live. Which Color Would You Choose?

One of my favorite things to do anytime Porsche launches a new model is to go and play with their configuration tool. Well, that tool is now live for the Porsche 918 and it’s a lot more simple than most other Porsche models as there just aren’t that many options to choose from. They’ve also updated the 918 Micro-site with more info.

I started off with the base model vs. the Weissach package as I wanted to see what I could build and for what price. I could have easily brought the price closer to the $1,000,000 mark, but I like the standard paints vs. the special liquid metal paints ($63,000 option) and the standard 918 wheels vs. the $32,500 Magnesium wheels (these look too much like other Porsche wheels and didn’t stand out enough for me). There are a few other options you can play with, but I’ll let you check it out for yourself vs. describing each one.

Guards Red
White
Black
Racing Yellow
Meteor Gray Metallic
Saphire Blue Metallic
Basalt Black Metallic
Silver Metallic
Dark Blue Metallic
Rhodium Silver Metallic
Liquid Metal Chrome - $63,000
Liquid Metal Silver - $63,000
Weissach Matt Black Option
Weissach Salzburg Option
Weissach Martini Option

What Color Would You Choose?

Where I spent the most time was on the color. Not including the three (3) Weissach wraps (Matt Black, Martini Racing or Salzburg Racing) you have three (3) standard colors, six (6) metallic colors and two (2) special colors for a total of 11 exterior paint options. At the end of the day I went with Racing Yellow for my 918. While I’ve never been a huge fan of Racing Yellow, I really like its appearance on the 918 (especially with the wheels). What color would you choose?
