We originally posted the video below to our Facebook page last week and people seemed to really enjoy it. At some point the youtube poster removed the video and we heard from people on FB that they had heard about it, but couldn’t find it so we decided to post it up here.
The video above really speaks for itself. A Nissan 350Z (said to have a Procharger supercharger kit installed) enters the autobahn behind a 911 GT3. Putting out somewhere between 445 and 490 hp the Nissan quickly overtakes the unsuspecting GT3. However, with 475 hp the GT3 quickly recovers and pulls ahead. That’s when a Mk. 1 VW Golf comes out of nowhere and passes both cars. Talk about a sleeper.

Lovely. If someone could take (write off) out the heading on the upper left hand side of the video screen it would be even better, as it gives away the element of surprise! Thank you, nevertheless!
i kept expecting to see a little Nash Rambler stuck in second gear race by.
Why is the Z still. In the left lane with the other two cars running away from him?
He's is enjoying the show...sounds like it anyway. ;-)
I was reminded of an article back in the early 80's about a VW Golf fully clothed in a Porsche 928. Here it is, sort of http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/classic-cars/news/a24826/super-rabbit/
Now that was some Autobahn Über sleeper
Enjoy!
Silly me, I think it rather was a Porsche 928 dressed in VW clothes.
A nameplate does NOT a fast car make. Reminds me of late 60's and having Sunbeam Tiger (gaining recognition then),, having fun with said Tiger, using an 'Alpine' name plate on sides of the British Racing Green sports car and the much larger exhaust pipes replaced with the Alpines puny 1" exhaust ,, having to run Weber 4-barrel carb feeding air into the v-8 ngine stuffed in compartment meant for a 4-banger.... with a lot of lead weight lining wheel wells to gain traction, had a great deal of fun putting strange looks on faces of Corvette, Porsche, Olds 442, Mustang Cobra's (not the real Shelby Full Race Cobras with 1" cams and NO red-line on tach),,, who were in the Sunbeam's rear view mirror. Ah well, the good ol' days.. davzway
