Watch as Romain Dumas Scares The Crap Out Of Unsuspecting Ride Share Passengers

Have you ever used Uber or Lyft? If so, you know that part of the program is they provide you with information on your driver and their car (this is partly so you can recognize them and partly for safety). So, imagine you’re off to the airport and waiting for your car to arrive expecting a well sorted Toyota Camry or maybe even a nice Mercedes E-class to arrive (if you splurged for Uber Black that is). What pulls up, however is something completely unexpected.

So shocked to see a 550 hp Porsche Panamera Turbo you never even notice your “driver” is Porsche’s very own two-time Le Mans winning factory driver Romain Dumas. As you set-off on your long trip to the airport you quickly hit traffic and your “driver” goes in search of short-cut, one that takes you onto the track at Le Mans, home to the Porsche Experience Center in France. From there, you just need to watch.

More About the new Panamera

Since its introduction in 2009, the Porsche Panamera Turbo has continued to break new ground. Just as the Cayenne redefined the sport utility market, the Panamera has redefined the 4-door luxury segment, the Panamera Turbo takes a back seat to no one. Performance figures are one thing: twin turbo V8 making 550 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, eight-speed PDK driving all four wheels add up to 0-60 in 3.6 seconds and an estimated top speed of 192 mph. Impressive for sure but it has to drive and sound like a Porsche and the Panamera Turbo delivers.

At Porsche, motorsport has not only improved the breed, it has defined the breed. Ongoing development on0track has allowed Porsche to deliver other worldly performance in all models offered, regardless of weight and number of doors. In fact, Porsche engineers have worked to insure the new 911, Panamera and Cayenne have very similar ergonomics and driver feedback when behind the wheel.
