Most Porsche owners know their cars are targets for would be thieves. Thankfully, we have a very vigilant police force on the lookout for these miscreants and they work hard to bring them to justice. Most of the stories we read about this case have a headline of “Stolen Porsche Rams Police Cruiser” or something similar. It’s catchy, and gets you to watch, but if you watch the video below closely, I don’t think that’s actually the case.
Instead, it looks like the Toronto Police cruiser intentionally backs up into the path of the 911 in order to block the would be thief’s escape. A very effective maneuver from the looks of it. Incredibly, the alleged thief still manages to squeeze out from between the 911 and the Police SUV for a short sprint up a nearby embankment. According to official police reports we saw, officers soon caught up with the would be thief and took him into custody. Fortunately, the officer driving the SUV was not hurt. It’s unknown how much damage the 911 suffered or what charges the suspect will face.
