Huge Crash During Supercup At Monza Sends Cars Flying and Marshals Fleeing For Safety

The Porsche Supercup at Monza got off to a wild start this weekend. Over the course of just a few minutes there were two major accidents, both resulting in Porsches rolling, flipping and flying across the track.

In the first, Chris Bauer spun his Porsche coming into a corner collecting Eisemann and causing him to flip while Lopez was pushed directly into the fencing guarding the track marshals. If you watch the video below you’ll see the accident from three different angles. The 2nd and 3rd both show just how lucky the track marshals were not to be more seriously injured. As for the drivers, thankfully, the safety equipment did its job and all three walked away just slightly shaken up.

Remarkably, just minutes after the first accident, another Porsche driven by Dylan Pereira, takes an off track excursion (around the 3:00 minute mark in the video above). As Pereira tries to recover, he comes back onto the track from the gravel, forcing his car straight across the track and basically punts Ryan Cullen off the track causing Cullen’s 911 to roll. As you watch and listen you’ll note that the announcer is unforgiving (rightfully so) in his analysis of the crash.
