  • I just got home from the Parade. I was a bit (okay, alot,) disappointed in the classic display. Otherwise, it was a great time.

    • Greg,

Really? Was there just not that much in it this year? Usually, it's outstanding!

  • While the local and other Michigan PCA clubs knocked themselves out to make the Parade a success and deserve our appreciation plus gratitude, I feel there were some "issues" that should be addressed when planning future Parades. To wit:
    1. The annual Cherry Festival in the Traverse City area is a big draw, and the local roads, restaurants, etc., were completely crowded with traffic, and families. Scheduling the Parade for the same week was not a good idea.
    2. The Tech Quiz was more of a "history" quiz than a Tech quiz. The 996/997 section was particularly weak in re. technical challenge.
    3. The "tech university" sessions on Friday were held in a huge gymnasium-like room equipped with noisy air handling units. As a result, acoustics were terrible and many speakers could not be heard at the back of the room(s). PA systems were provided, but several speakers were unfamilar with their use.

Sorry, don't mean to rant, rant. Needless to say, I attend the Parades primarily for the technical sessions.

    relinuca
