Anyone who’s ever played gold dreams of hitting a hole-in-one. Any any one that’s ever watched a proferssional golf tournament has seen one par-3 hole or another where players have the chance to win a new car should they put their ball in the cup from the tee. Last week’s Porsche European Open was no different. Players had the opportunity to win a new Panamera 4S were they to hit an ace on the Par-3 17th. Watch as Tour player Alexander Levy misses his chance by just inches. Don’t fee too bad for him, however, as Levy went on to win the tournament (and a €333,330 purse) after a dramatic play-off on Sunday.
In a related, but slightly different story, Welsh golf pro Phillip Price did hit a hole-in-one during the Porsche European Open. Unfortunately, he did it on the wrong hole. As mentioned above, a hole-in-one on the 17th would get the shooter a new Panamera 4S, a hole-in-one on the 14th, where Price shot his, simply gets your bragging rights. Fortunately, for Price, with Porsche as the title sponsor, they decided to step-up and embrace the PR that comes along with a shot like this and awarded Price a Chronotimer Series 1 Deep Blue watch from the Porsche Design “Chronotimer Collection”.
