Porsche Running 24-Hour Social Media Race For Le Mans

As you all know by now, Porsche returns to the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a factory supported team this weekend for the first time since 1998. As part of the celebration, starting on June 14th, Porsche fans can compete in their own version of the race via social media. The better you and your team tweets, the faster you go. The fastest team wins an exclusive VIP package to attend an LMP race (in Austin or Shanghai) and see the Porsche 919 Hybrid race in person.

How To Enter>

Available to both Twitter and Weibo users (remember this is a worldwide event) simply visit http://www.porsche.com/24socialrace and get ready for the race start. Once there you’ll be asked to sign in via your Twitter or Weibo account. The app will then walk you through the rules (they’re fairly simple) and help you to set-up a team. While you don’t have to have to include anyone else, the more members you have on your team means more tweets and the faster/better you tweet increases your speed in the race. In other words, more Twitter or Weibo pilots means a faster race for you and your team. Each of your tweets will be appended with the #24SocialRace tag and you can see how your team ranks against all other teams on the live scoring board.
