Win A Chance To Join Patrick Long For A Driving Challenge In A To Be Released Porsche Model

The long rumored “purists” 911 R (possibly breaking cover next month in Geneva) is said to be Porsche’s answer to the outcry from aficionados looking for a real seat-of-the-pants driving experience. Rumored to be a stripped down GT3 featuring a naturally-aspirated engine with rear wheel drive and manual only transmission, this new 911 should deliver.

Today, Porsche announced a chance for two lucky fans to driving “an upcoming Porsche model before everyone else can”. Given the timing of the announcement and the what the contest consists of we can’t help but speculate that it’s the 911 R Porsche is referencing. See for yourself in the video below.

How To Enter

Porsche has set up a special web-site at www.porsche.com/driving-challenge to enter the contest. In order to be considered there are a few things to take note of.

  • The contest runs from now through the 17th of February, 2016
  • You must be at least 25 years of age, posses a valid driving license and have at least 5 years of driving experience
  • You must be available during the event period (driver training: 26-27 February 2016;
    Driving Event: 02-03 April 2016)
  • You’ll need a “very good command of English”

Assuming you meet the eligibility requirements you’ll need to take a short five questions quiz and then submit a video and explaining why you should be chosen.

What Do You Win

Porsche will actually pick two winners, each of whom will first “undergo driver training with Porsche factory driver Patrick Long on 26-27 February 2016 at a test track in Germany. On 02-03 April 2016, the winners will drive the new Porsche model under supervision as part of a Driving Event in the French Pyrenees. Photographs/video and voice recordings will be made at this event. These will then be published on the future website of the new Porsche model and on social networks. Before taking part in the driver training and the Driving Event, each driver must sign a motor car rental contract which provides for a EUR 2,500 deduction in case of an accident.

The prize also includes the following services for both winners: Travel to and from Germany and the French Pyrenees (air/rail, economy/2nd class), up to five nights in a hotel (driver training: 26-27 February 2016; Driving Event: 02-03 April 2016), transfer from the airport/train station to the hotel as well as to the event venue and back. It is up to the winners themselves to travel to and from the respective departure airport/train station. The winners themselves are responsible for any necessary visa or for the fulfillment of other entry requirements. The Organizer will not assume liability for this. The prize cannot be paid in cash or material assets, nor can it be exchanged or transferred to others”

  • Discovered Flatsixes.com after February, 2016 and would love to know that I could have a chance
to win a driving opportunity like this again in a Porsche. A little over a year ago, I bought my first Porsche
Boxster S -- 2001 and have loved driving it.

Not sure what it would take for me to increase my odds when another opportunity arises, not the most
literate when it comes to uploading a video explaining why I would be the best choice but would figure
out a way to create the video.
    Best Regards,

    Steven Hontz
