Earlier this month, on October 13th, more than 1000 people gathered at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart for “Porsche Sound Night 2012”. This is a unique opportunity to listen to the engines of some of the most iconic Porsche cars ever in person.
The video above showcases last year’s event. On hand for this year’s symphony were even more Porsche racing legends including a 1973 Porsche 917/30, a 1977 Porsche 935, a 1977 Porsche 935, a 1986 Porsche 961, a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR, a 1962 Porsche 804 F1, a 1963 Porsche 356 B 2000 GS-GT, a 1987 Porsche 962 C, a 2008 Porsche RS Spyder and last, but definitely not least, a Porsche 918 Spyder Prototype test mule. That’s it in the video below. Turn up the volume and enjoy!

The crew over at Classic Driver were present at the event and put together a great little story with pictures and “bootleg” sound tracks. We’ve embedded a few of them for you above. If you’re having trouble seeing (and perhaps more importantly, hearing) any of the media above be sure to visit Porsche Sound Night 2012 to listen and watch directly on our site.

I have loved Porsches for as long as I can remember!!! I've had a 1971 911 S Targa, A 1977 930 Turbo, A 1980 911 SC Targa, 2 928 S4s, I currently drive a 2010 Panamera Turbo and a 2012 Cayenne Turbo, As Tom Cruise says in the film "Risky Business", "Porsche, There IS No Substitute."
