Known now as Porsche Track Experience, this new program expands the original Porsche Sport Driving School to coach individuals on how to drive their Porsche to their fullest level. Instead of just two levels – Warm-up and Precision – the renamed and expanded program includes the original two plus the addition of Performance and Master levels.
The Porsche Track Experience expansion for 2018 allows attendess to continue cultivating their familiarity of driving a Porsche in a track environment, or, alternatively, provided them an introduction through a Warm-up,” said Marc Ouayoun, President & CEO, Porsche Cars Canada, Ltd. “Regardless of the program class, the encouraging atmosphere and professional instructors will invigorate Porsche passion and take each driver’s skills to the next level.”
How The Four Levels Differ and what they cost
- Warm-up: This is all about everyday driving. During this 1/2 day class participants will work through simulated situations to better learn effective braking, lane changes and controlling over and understeer. Cost $495 for 1/2 day.
- Precision: In this instance, the name says it all. This is a 2-day course with no prerequisite. So, unless budget is a factor, you may want to take a pass on the Warm-up and jump right into this course. In this case, the name says it all. Participants will learn just what a precision instrument their Porsche is and how it reacts to every input given. If you think you’re going to want to continue your training through the next two levels, Performance and Master, this course is a prerequisite.
Your first day will focus on basic handling and driving safety in everyday road use. Your first day behind the wheel will consist of learning to take evasive actions in simulated driving conditions where your Porsche threatens to oversteer (ass-over-teakettle). The idea is to learn to identify these situations early and avoid them. In the event you can’t you’ll learn to steer through them.
Day two is time to put what you learned into practice with guided lead-follow on full laps of the circuit. Cost for this two day program is $2795 per person. - Performance: Once you’ve successfully completed the Precision level it’s time to move on to Performance training. Focused mainly on further improving vehicle control. The course consists of both classroom and on-track time. Over two days you’ll lap the track more times than you can count with an emphasis on improving and refining everything you’ve learned in the previous course. Cost for the Performance program is $3,795 per person.
- Master: Last, but definitely not least, this two day course brings us closer to racing. Focused on showing you to find the best line around the track without the aid of instructors or cones, this course aims to put you in the driver seat should you choose to take your driving to the next level. Training is said to be conducted in small groups and includes one-on-one guidance with a racing instructor as you lap the circuit. Cost for the Master class is $4,795 per person.
