YouTube is great and just keeps getting better. Not only do videos convey a story in a way that words can’t always match, the technology keeps improving and adding features like this 360 degree video from Porsche.
As you start the video, you’re looking into the 919 straight at Porsche factory driver Marc Lieb. However, you can easily rotate the view in any direction a full 360 degrees (use your mouse on your desktop or simply swipe if you’re on your phone). What’s even better is that Marc narrates the lap and talks you through each section of the Circuit de la Sarthe. For best results, I suggest watching the video once and listening to Marc’s narration. Then, watch a second time. Only this time, rotate the view as Marc narrates and you’ll see exactly what he does and can watch as he changes gears, brakes, passes, etc. This is about as close as you can get to being in a Porsche LMP1 car without putting on a helmet yourself.
