As one of the more heavily publicized protagonists of Porsche’s “Mission 2014”, Mark Webber will play a big part in the 919 Hybrid effort this year at Le Mans. After spending a number of years at the wheel of Red Bull’s successful open-wheel racers in Formula 1, Webber has left the fast paced life of an F1 driver for the fast paced life of a WEC driver, and Red Bull Media House has been chronicling his transition in a series of short videos, creatively dubbed “Mark Webber Returns To Le Mans”.
The video series goes “behind the scenes” of Webber’s change of cockpit, documenting his final days in F1, and the most recent video (Chapter 4) shows Mark’s Silverstone and Spa season openers in the 919 Hybrid LMP1, as well as a quick trip through Monaco in a 991 Turbo Cabriolet. As Le Mans looms on the horizon, more videos will be released to commemorate Mark’s first Le Mans effort in 15 years. Check back for more releases as they become available.
