Coinciding with Porsche’s return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans is a revolutionary set of rule changes. Why did they change? What’s changed? How will it impact Porsche’s race strategy? All those questions, and more, are answered in this series of 12 short films. Produced by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, the videos aim to educate the general public on the key points in this set of revolutionary regulations in motor sport including he modifications made by each manufacturer to comply with them in order to to win the greatest endurance races in the world starting with the Le Mans 24 Hours.
The first video, above, ‘Why a new set of regulations?’ premiered in Paris on 13th of February during the press conference presenting the 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours. Going forward, a new video will be shown every Wednesday up till the Le Mans 24 Hours (June 14-15). The 2nd video in the series, “The new LM P1” explains the LMP1 category in detail and highlights the changes to the LMP1 specification.
