This year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans is possibly the most important one for a Porsche fan in a number of years. Porsche has a competitive car in the top class, as well as a factory effort in the GT category, so what’s not to like? As such, we’re going to be scrabbling for any way to watch the race, and looking for the most in depth analysis of the race as it unfolds. We’ll all be watching the 24 hours of Le Mans (or at least following along), but which method are you going to choose?
24 Hours of Le Mans App
The biggest change this year is that Le Mans will be broadcast in a live-stream format on the new 24 Hours of Le Mans app (it’s the WEC app rebadged for the 24 Hours of Le Mans). The app itself is available for free download to to all IOS and Android devices. With it you’ll get news, live class updates, car location, driver and team info, onboard cameras, video and interviews. Then, on June 11th, once free practice starts, you can pay $11 dollars for full, unrestricted video access to practice, the race and everything else. Watch On TV In The US
The television package here in the United States will be run by the Fox Sports network of broadcasting channels. Across a number of cable channels, they will be providing 25 hours of flag-to-flag coverage, plus a half an hour of pre-race, and half an hour of post-race.

As usual, trying to watch live auto sports in Canada is frustrating. Following the demise of Speed network, our cable / satellite providers have yet to substitute Fox Sports. They blame it on the CRTC, a "regulatory" group that determines what we may watch, and requires us to pay for crap or alternative language programming in order to get what we wish to see.
Time to break the stranglehold. This app looks like a good place to start.
