Video: Leh Keen Gives Us A Tour Of His GT3R Steering Wheel

With every passing year it seems that our racing cars get more and more complex, even beyond the level found in road cars. Traditionally, the racing version of a car has been quite spartan and simple inside, but that trend has migrated more toward having every bit of control at your finger tips with a myriad of buttons and knobs on the steering wheel. Now it’s safe to say that Leh Keen’s GT3 R steering wheel isn’t quite as complex as the one we looked at earlier this year in Porsche’s 919 Hybrid, but it definitely has more functions than your average Cayenne.

In a brief interview with motorsport reporter John Hindhaugh, Leh Keen gives us a tour of his steering wheel, and what each of the buttons and switches and knobs do. Radio, water, kill switch, dash operations, reverse, knobs for traction control and fuel maps. Leh’s favorite button, however, seems to be the headlight flasher to let people know he’s behind them and would prefer to be in front of them. The video is brought to you by ZF Gearboxes, which I’m sure Hindhaugh had to concentrate hard to say ‘zee eff’ instead of ‘zed eff’. In any case, this is a short video with some fun information from one of our favorite drivers about one of our favorite Porschd race cars.
