Leh Keen’s Rain Dance at the 24 Hours Nürburgring

This past weekend the Nürburgring 24 hour race was red-flagged (stopped) for a little more than nine hours due to “poor conditions”. The video below gives a first hand perspective from the point of view of Leh Keen in his Porsche 911 GT3 R. Look how bad the visibility is. Watch how fast his hands move to control the car and recover from over-steer. Look at the spray coming off the other race cars as he overtakes them. RESPECT! That’s what Leh deserves.

  • What a great driver's perspective and what a great drive in the wet. I'm off to Le Mans in a few weeks but I hope it's not raining for everyone's sake.

  • I've driven the 'Ring, but not at night, in the rain! It's not a sequential shifter; his right hand stayed on the wheel; PDK?

  • You can get a rain idea just how tough it is to drive fast in the rain. Consider that Leh is an excellent driver with the best Porsche has to offer under him and only once or twice did he get over 150 mph. Most of the lap was well under 100 based on the KPH readout on the left of the display. Yet many think nothing of it to get out on the interstate in the rain and run 80-100 mph!!!
