Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Junior Development Program

Are you familiar with the saying, “Win on Sunday, Drive on Monday”? While the origins of this legendary racing axiom may have started with Ford in the ’60’s, it’s one that Porsche took to heart and still holds true today. So, as China quickly expands into what will eventually be Porsche’s largest single market, it’s no wonder they’re putting emphasis on their junior racing program. In fact, the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia just recently expanded by implementing a program designed to support drivers aged between 18 and 26, tutoring them on everything from race craft to technical know how and fitness. Four of China’s most promising prospects have been chosen to take part in the inaugural year of this program under the guidance of chief trainer and two time PCCA champion Christian Menzel. The official goal of the program is, of course, to develop Chinese talent. The unofficial goal, in our eyes, is to give the Porsche brand more exposure among to a young, enthusiastic demographic who can aspire to one day own a Porsche. In the video below, Porsche China’s Motorsport Manager Olive Schwab explains more about the new China Junior Development Program.
