The 15th running of the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta marks the end of the 2012 ALMS season. While it wasn’t the best of races for Porsche’s GT3 RSR customer teams, all did end up in the top ten GT finishing positions. In the GTC class, Leh Keen’s fifth place finish was enough to clinch second place in the Driver’s championship right behind his co-driver Cooper MacNeil.

Why are the GT3's not competitive in the GT class?
I have not followed the series much previously but
there seems to be a difference between Corvette and Porsche.
Factory support? Weight? Thanks for your help.
I'm not sure you can say they aren't "competitive". Porsche didn't have a great year, but it wasn't miserable. I think the difference this year is that what most consider to be Porsche's flagship team (Flying Lizard) didn't run away with the season. Instead, they struggled with some bad starts, mechanical issues and still managed a decent season. This year was more of a mix in my mind. For the first time in years it seemed that a number of manufacturers were competitive and wins were split. That and bouts of bad luck seemed to have Porsche just off the podium and behind in the points. However, the points don't show it as a runaway for Corvette...
