Ayhancan Güven became the first Turkish race winner in DTM history with a commanding victory at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, driving the Manthey EMA Porsche 911 GT3 R. Güven and teammate Thomas Preining capitalized on a perfect two-stop strategy, with Preining also securing a podium finish in third.
Starting fourth, Güven executed a flawless first pit stop to take the lead and maintained a strong advantage throughout the race. Preining, who started seventh after a challenging qualifying, climbed to third with sharp driving and well-timed pit stops.
“Sunday’s success is the result of excellent and consistent driving skills and an outstanding performance from the entire team,” said Sebastian Golz, Project Manager Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Manthey leads the team standings after the first weekend of the 2025 DTM season, bolstered by points scored in Saturday’s race as well. Manthey Junior Team driver Morris Schuring narrowly missed scoring points on his DTM debut but showed promise despite a minor pit stop issue.
Güven praised the team’s race strategy, saying, “They called me in at exactly the right time. My in-lap was great, and I rejoined the race in an excellent position.”
The DTM season continues with the next round at the Lausitzring.
