Porsche Experience Center Atlanta has announced the opening of a new exhibit in the Heritage Gallery, showcasing a selection of rare Porsche vehicles. This exhibit, titled “The Why?”, is part of the Center’s 10th anniversary celebration in Atlanta and aims to explore the motivations and inspirations of the brand’s most dedicated owners and enthusiasts.
Michelle Rainey, the Director of Porsche Experience Centers, stated, “The exhibit isn’t only about the cars; it’s about the people behind them and the special meanings those cars hold for them.” The collection includes unique personal builds and notable race cars, highlighting models such as the 1994 911 Turbo S Flachbau and the 1953 356 Pre-A, which represents the origins of Porsche over seventy years ago. Each vehicle is accompanied by displays that detail their individual stories.

Among the featured cars is the 1994 911 Turbo S “Flachbau,” a rare model with only 76 units produced. The 2018 911 GT2 RS MR, known for its significant performance and aerodynamic enhancements, represents the pinnacle of the 911’s ‘991’ generation. The 1953 356 Pre-A is recognized as one of the early imports to the U.S. and exemplifies Porsche’s foundational principles of design and engineering. The 2023 RSR-19 “Rexy,” inspired by a T-Rex, gained popularity during its racing season with AO Racing. Lastly, the Lowenbrau 962-103, known for its success in the IMSA GT Championship, has become a notable part of Porsche’s racing legacy.
This exhibit will be available for viewing until July, after which new vehicles will be added, continuing through 2025. Visitors can access “The Why?” at the Porsche Heritage Gallery with existing reservations for various experiences, including track driving, simulator sessions, dining at Restaurant 356, or attending private events.
