PCNA Posts First Month-over-Month Sales Decline In More Than A Year

The last time Porsche posted a month-over-month sales decline was June of 2015. However, back then, the decline was tiny at just 45 vehicles. For July 2016, however, the decline is a bit stronger. With sales of just 3,878 vehicles, Porsche’s deliveries are off 18% compared to July of 2015 and down 604 deliveries as compared to last month. Even with this month’s decline, year-to-date sales sit at 30,586 vehicles representing a year-over-year increase of 2.4%

While sports car demand was strong across the board (up 36% for Boxster and Caymans as compared to July 2015 and up 3.6% for the 911 in the same period), Porsche attributes the decline in sales to, “supply changeover from model year 2016 to model year 2017 for SUVs has slowed the ability to meet customer demand”. Specifically, the Macan registered 931 deliveries, representing a 39% decrease compared to last year and Cayenne sales dropped 27.5% with 1,067 vehicles delivered.
