AO Racing’s No. 77 Porsche 911 GT3 R finished third in the GTD Pro class in round seven of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on July 13, 2025. Drivers Laurin Heinrich of Germany and Klaus Bachler of Austria secured the team’s third podium of the season, leaving them 39 points behind the class championship leader as the series moves on to Road America on August 3. The race, contested over two hours and 40 minutes, featured three full course cautions and ended under the safety car.

The event began on a green track following an early morning thunderstorm. All 35 entries ran under green for the first hour and eight minutes, after which Bachler delayed his first pit stop to lead by more than 12 seconds. Heinrich took over during that stop and fell to ninth, but a full course caution two minutes later allowed the team to regain the lead with a quick service. Heinrich relinquished an 18-second advantage with 51 minutes remaining to refuel, rejoined in third, and remained in that position when the final caution was called with 15 minutes on the clock.

Wright Motorsports’ No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R, driven by Elliott Skeer and Adam Adelson, pursued an alternate strategy but finished 10th in GTD after multiple safety car periods. The result leaves the team fourth in the class standings. Porsche holds second in the GTD Pro manufacturer standings.

Porsche also extended its success in IMSA support championships. In the Michelin Pilot Challenge, Luca Mars and Jan Heylen finished ninth in the RS 1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, their first result off the podium this season. In the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, Adelson claimed second in GTDX to take the class lead, and Chris Walsh won the GSX Bronze category and sits second in points. Sunday’s VP Racing SportsCar Challenge race was cancelled due to weather.
