Early last week we explained how Porsche is now embroiled in the ongoing investigation into Volkswagen’s emissions cheating issues. Shortly after news broke about the fact that certain Cayenne diesel models were now being reported as having some type of cheat device, Porsche Cars North America and Porsche Cars Canada issued a voluntary stop sale of Porsche Cayenne Diesel vehicles with statements similar to the following:
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. today decided, in view of the unexpected U.S. EPA notice received yesterday, to voluntarily discontinue sales of model year 2014 through 2016 Porsche Cayenne Diesel vehicles until further notice. We are working intensively to resolve this matter as soon as possible. Customers may continue to operate their vehicles normally.
