Porsche Worldwide Sales By Country: May 2015

The battle to be called Porsche’s biggest single market continues between the U.S. and China. In May, China outpaced the U.S. in overall deliveries with 5,391 Porsches delivered. While the U.S. controlled the lead in demand for the 911, with around 900 new ones delivered to customers, their overall deliveries were down from the same period last year by about 7% for a total of 5,290 delivered Porsches. Wordlwide, Porsche increased deliveries nearly 25% in May to 20,582 (a 25% increase over the same period last year) bring them to a grand total of 93,153 deliveries for the year (an increase of 20.3% over last year).

“We have again exceeded our target figures in May”, said Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. “In particular, we were able to boost sales significantly in the Chinese market and in Europe.”

China had the biggest growth with a 70% increase over the same period last year. In Europe, the Stuttgart-based sports car maker achieved a growth of nearly 20% with more than 7,000 new Porsche’s delivered delivered. Their home market of Germany grew by 20.3% to a total of 2,721 deliveries.

One interesting fact the sales chart doesn’t show is with regard to the Cayman GT4. One out of every ten delivered was the new Cayman GT4.
