In January of 2013 Porsche delivered over 12,000 cars world-wide for an increase of more than 25%. That same upward trend continues in February. The sports car manufacturer handed over 10,454 new vehicles to customers the world over achieving an increase of 18.2% in comparison to the same month last year. This brings the total for the first two months to 22,515 Porsches – equal to a 20% + increase over the same time period in 2012.
“Porsche was successful worldwide in February again,” said Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG. “We anticipate more stimuli from our ongoing product offensive in the next few months – at the moment with the pan-European launch of the new Cayman and the presentation of the new 911 GT3 at the Geneva Motor Show.”
The U.S. Market held onto the number one position with 2,805 deliveries in February (an increase of 30.5% compared to the same time last year). However, China is close on their heals with a 17.5% growth rate to 2,689 Porsche delivered their. At home in Germany, deliveries rose by 13.1 per cent to 1,197 vehicles in the reporting month.
The Porsche model most in demand worldwide in February 2013 was the Cayenne again: 5,637 SUVs were handed over to our customers all over the world. 953 units of the third generation of the Boxster were delivered by Porsche. And deliveries of the 911 model range stand above those of the previous year as well: 1,951 customers were delighted to have their new sports car in February.
