As Porsche continue to grow, so does their need for talented and skilled new talent. In order to ensure access to that talent Porsche recently opened one of the most advanced training centers in the automotive industry.
The new €30 million building comprises and area totaling 14,000 square meters (150,000 square feet) offers space for up to 500 trainees and students of the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University. From 2011 to 2014, the number of career entrants at Porsche has risen by 50% to 450 at present. Porsche promises all apprentices and students a permanent job guarantee upon the completion of their training.
“The construction of the training centre in Zuffenhausen is not only a clear commitment to our site in Stuttgart”, says Matthias Müller, President and CEO of Porsche AG, “with it, we have also laid the foundation for ensuring that our superior training will continue in the future. That is how perspectives open up – for the young generation and for ourselves. After all, we owe the high level of innovative strength of the Porsche brand, above all, to our outstandingly trained co-workers.”
Porsche offers ten different technical and commercial professional training courses. In addition, the new training center brings together102 students of the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University. These students study in seven bachelor programs to get acquainted with the working practice of a business computer scientist or electrical engineer. Now, with the new training centre, the technical-industrial apprentices will train under conditions that are unique to the automotive industry. In addition to three learning and media rooms as well as a complete paint shop and logistics training workshops, the building houses an event room for up to 120 people, changing rooms and a cafeteria.
Looking ahead, the Chairman of the Works Council points out: “It is perfectly clear that the challenges of the labour market are getting tougher. The topics of digital technology and Industry 4.0 will have a long-term impact on the working world and change it for good. Our new training centre offers our apprentices and students the best conditions so that they can meet the challenges of the modern working world.”

The concept E Porsche has the design that the Panamera should of had. The E is stretched out to look less fat. The unique though maybe not street legal headlight treatment modernizes the nose. Just overall a more modern, sharper image. Hopefully the next generation Panamera will incoerate most if not all of these cues.
