Porsche’s World Wide Deliveries Through April

Porsche boosted its worldwide deliveries to customers in April 2014: with 16,300 vehicles sold, the manufacturer bettered the successful figures of the same month last year by 7%. From January to April of this year, Porsche delivered 55,000 new cars to customers (+ 5.2%). The Panamera had the greatest jump in sales, up 17% so far this year.

“We are continuing our qualitative growth strategy with a new top mark for new car deliveries in April,” said Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG. “Our next step is the expansion of the range of our Boxster and Cayman mid-engine sports cars by adding premium GTS versions.”

China Continues It’s Growth As Porsche’s 2nd Largest Single Market

All regions booked an increase in sales from January to April 2014. The response by customers in China was especially encouraging: with 13,300 deliveries, Porsche achieved 12% growth compared to the same period in 2013. Europe also developed positively: 17,800 vehicles sold represent an increase of 8% from the same period of the prior year.

The New Macan

The new Macan has been available at the Porsche Dealers in Europe and the Middle East since April. In its first reporting month, 2,000 customers took delivery of their compact SUV from Porsche. Also, the 911 model range gets a much celebrated addition this weekend: on May 10, 2014, the new Porsche 911 Targa 4 and 911 Targa 4S, which have already won over the automotive media with their innovative, fully automatic roof system, are making their debut in Europe.
