Porsche’s Worldwide Sales By Country For 2014

A number of years ago Porsche announced their ambitious plan to reach 200,000 units sold by 2018. Now, Porsche thinks that reach that goal sooner, much sooner. For 2014 Porsche delivered 189,850 new cars to customers all over the world – an increase of 17% over the previous year. In December alone, Porsche increased sales by 39% (as compared to last year) delivering more than 20,000 cars in just one month. At this rate, Porsche should reach their goal of 200,000 cars delivered next year (three years ahead of schedule).

75% Of Macan Customers Were First-Time Porsche Buyers

More than two thirds of all Porsche sales in 2014 came from their sporty Cayenne and Macan line-up. In fact, of the 45,000 plus customers who bought a Macan worldwide, 34,000 of them were new to the brand having come over from Mercedes, BMW or other similar competitors.

“For the fourth record year in a row there are very specific reasons: fascinating products and highly motivated employees,” said Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. “On top of that, our brand experienced an additional upswing in 2014 as a result of the successful launch of the Macan. Worldwide, seventy-five per cent of Macan customers were first-time buyers of a Porsche car.”

China Is Closing The Gap On The US

In 2014, Porsche sold more cars in all regions and on all markets. Of great interest to those who watch the market is the increase in sales to China. With an increase of 25% over last year, China reached deliveries of 46,931 units. That’s just 76 fewer than sold in the U.S. Germany remains Porsche’s third largest market where 24,000 customers opted for a Porsche model, more than ever before.
