Porsche’s Worldwide Sales Figures for September 2012

Porsche increased sales just shy of 13% in the month of September 2012. With 11,888 Porsches delivered, deliveries increased 12.6% from the same month last year. Year to date, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG has sold a total of 104,362 vehicles – an increase of 14.7 percent compared to 90,972 deliveries during the period of January to September 2011.

“In September, Porsche continues to grow at the global level”, as Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG, comments. “We keep a cool head and continue driving by sight. This demonstrates the success of our international demand-driven sales management. Even in challenging times, we remain true to our business model.”

China saw an increase of 31.3% in september with 2,818 deliveries in the month of September, while the US had 2,736 deliveries for a 26.1% increase over the same period last year. As expected, European deliveries weakened slightly in year-on-year terms. However, sales varied greatly by country: In Russia, deliveries rose by more than 90 percent. With 1,325 units sold in the home market of Germany, the previous year’s results for September were nearly reached.

Once again, the Cayenne was in the highest demand. 6,495 Porsche SUVs were delivered to customers worldwide. Of the third generation Boxster, Porsche delivered 1,120 vehicles – an increase of 71.8 percent compared to September 2011. The 911 model continued to improve as well with 1,809 deliveries. An increase of 22.2 percent compared to September of last year.
