With the aid of transparent plastic, this moving model gives us a fascinating look into the inner workings of a functioning Porsche flat-six. Of course, this plastic model is just fun-sized, but it’s nevertheless shows us the strangely soothing construction process involved and this 1/4 scale model’s incredible amount of detail. It even features intake trumpets!
This video might lack the raunchiness of a similar stop motion Porsche engine construction video posted not long ago, but this version has its own ethereal, soothing appeal. For fans of flat-sixes who like something calming to watch before bed, here’s a cool video that could give rise to dreams of camshafts and combustion.
There’s a New Porsche Model On The Way
For those who can’t get enough of these working scale models, never fear, there’s a new one on the way. The Porsche Museum has approved a 1:3-scale kit based on a Fuhrmann Type 547 engine. This new kit will have 310 pieces and is said to be even more detailed then this Mezger version. Look for it to be release sometime this fall!
