Canadian cabinetry company, Contur Cabinet, is launching a brand new premium metal cabinet lineup. Designed with Porsche fans in mind, the company’s first “themed special edition cabinet set”, the “RS Edition” garage cabinets inspired by Porsche’s Iconic RS series of cars, will begin shipping this fall.
The special edition cabinets have a number of distinct Porsche-related features pulled from such iconic Porsches as the 1973 Carrera 2.7 RS and the 997 GT3 RS 4.0. Utilizing certain aspects from each car, including the striking red “racing stripes” along the bottom, red-trim pull handles and legs, nylon overhead pull handles with white stitching, and a Porsche RS logo silk-screened onto the door panels, the cabinets have a distinctive Porsche look without being overtly branded as such. For an added level of customization, the Quebecois cabinetmakers will also be adding a metal VIN plate to each of the sets they sell, and will even customize your VIN to your specifications if you so choose. What could be cooler than having a limited edition set of cabinets that match the VIN of your own Carrera 2.7 RS?
If you are a Porsche enthusiast looking to deck out your garage with a truly attractive, yet still functional, work space, then give these Carrera White beauties a second look. It’s Porsche RS inspired garage cabinetry, what’s not to love?
Andy Evangelidis, President of Contur Cabinet – “People relate to brands and to specific themes. We’ve seen this trend developing extensively within the automobile and fashion industries over the years and realized that it should be further developed within our own industry. This will be the first of many themed cabinet sets that we have planned for release.
We wanted to create the same passion that exists between individual and sports car, but with a cabinet”, explains Evangelidis. “One example of many details is the nylon pull-down strap. In order to save weight on the sports car, nylon straps were used to close the doors in lieu of heavier metal handles and linkages. We’ve re-created this same strap for closing our overhead doors, right down to the white cross-stitching.”
Contur has informed us that the RS cabinet set will be priced below $4,000 and we should know how far below next week when pricing is released. For more information, or to find a local dealer where you can order yours, visit ConturCabinet.com.
