Specialist interest publishing company, Delius Klasing (DK) of Germany, is set to release a trilogy of books about Porsche’s 918 Spyder that they say will, “deliver a whole new reading experience”. That’s a pretty big boast to live up to, but if anyone can do it, this publishing house can. Know for such other works as 911 Love and Porsche 901, DK routinely puts out heirloom quality publications that will satisfy even the most discerning Porsche fan.

What’s Included In The Porsche 918 Spyder Trilogy

We haven’t yet seen the book so we can’t be objective. However, we’ll publish our review just as soon as we get our hands on a copy. For now, we need to rely on DK’s web-site and here’s what they have to say.

Picture Book
There is the “picture book” filled with opulent images from all the development phases of the 918 Spyder. The unique imagery of the “picture book” comes from Munich photographer and designer Stefan Bogner.

Story Book
The “story book” tells the tale of this car, which marks one of the decisive turning points in Porsche history. It comes from the keyboard of journalist Jürgen Pander from Hamburg. The narrative takes the reader on a journey behind the otherwise strictly closed doors of the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach and onto an array of race tracks and proving grounds around the world. It includes the words of key figures from Porsche’s sports car development team, such as engineers Gernot Döllner and Frank Steffen Walliser, Head of Design Michael Mauer and, of course, rally legend and Porsche handling expert Walter Röhrl, who was also involved in the development of the 918 Spyder.

Fact Book
The “fact book” contains all the relevant facts and figures on the 918 Spyder. In it, expert Klaus-Achim Peitzmeier has collated all the relevant facts, figures and graphics associated with this stroke of technical genius called the 918 Spyder.

How To Get It

DK says it is compellingly written, yet compact and concise in its presentation. Hopefully, we can let you know if they got it right or not in the near future. For now, if you just can’t wait, the set goes on sale on January 15th at a cost of €98, or about $116 USD.

    • Frank, great question. We sent an email to DK over the weekend asking that very thing as their web-site doesn't say. Given that the description is in both German and English we assume the book is as well. However, we don't like to make assumptions. We'll update the post once we hear back from them.
