In 2005 Porsche Design Studio and Poggenpohl joined forces for the first time to develop the P’7340, a modern kitchen constructed on an all aluminum frame. Back then, it took nearly three years for the P’7340 to come to market here in the U.S. Enter the P’7350, the next evolution in the partnership between Porsche and Poggenpohl. Announced last April the Poggenpohl P’7350 made its world premier this past Fall at the Eurocuccina fair in Milan and is available now.
Where the P’7340 was more about the similarities between car maker and kitchen, the P’7350 is about blending eating and living and the technology involved in developing this award winning kitchen design (The Poggenpohl P’7350 won the prestigious 2014 Plus X Award).
We haven’t seen one in person yet, but from the pictures, we really like the updates. Two of the more interesting updates are the addition of an integrated kitchen table as an option along with the vertical lines of the unique industrial mitring that goes into the engineering of this kitchen.
Like a Porsche, customization is almost limitless. Oddly, however, unlike the P’7340, this new Poggenpohl offering is limited to just four colors. However, the four colors can be combined in any way you might imagine to create varying visual impressions.
No word yet on pricing. However, the P’7340 ranged from $85,000 to $150,000, so expect this new variation to be at least that much. If you’re interested in one for your garage kitchen, you can check out all the options on the Poggenpohl website.
