Earlier today in Frankfurt at the Automechanika show, hall 6, booth 60, Porsche restoration sheetmetal supplier Dansk unveiled something that could potentially revolutionize the vintage 911 restoration industry if what we’re hearing is true. Supposedly, they pulled the sheets off what appears to be a completely brand-new Long Wheelbase longhood 911 shell. From top to bottom, this car looks to have been crafted from brand new sheetmetal.
Keep in mind that we still know very little about this project. The original source, a forum post by Pelican user “ilikeoldstuff”, who was attending the show, has admittedly very little information other than a handful of pictures and the following comment.
This week at Frankfurt Automechanika, JP/Dansk is introducing the LWB 911 reproduction shell. Now all of you race car builders and rotted project owners can start with a new body.
JP Group has been building aftermarket sheetmetal components and exhausts for Porsche models for ages, and this could just be another step forward in that vein. If this new chassis exists, you could effectively build a brand-new 1969 Porsche 911S. You could build a brand-new 1973 Carrera 2.7 RS. You can make a new hot-rod 911 without cutting up an original car. The possibilities are endless.
The chassis was reportedly just unveiled, so we don’t know as much about it as we wish we did, but inquiries can be made with your favorite Dansk dealer here in the US (we’ve reached out to the parent company in Germany but have not heard back as of yet). Price is something of an unknown at the moment, but I wouldn’t bet on it being under $30,000 dollars, and we’re not sure when, or if, these will begin to be delivered.
As more information comes to light about this, we’ll make sure to bring it to you.
UPDATE: After weeks of asking, Dansk finally responded and confirmed they will only be producing the individual panels and NOT the entire shell.

Panels in black are the ones available from Dansk - the rest aren't. Probably worth speaking with them before making the claim they are manufacturing complete body shells - seems to be misinformation.
One of our readers, who also works for one of the largest Porsche parts suppliers, was present at the show and the one who provided us with the info (which seemed to be confirmed by the independent post on Pelican). We've sent two emails to Dansk (one before we posted and one since). Neither have been responded to yet. We'll update the post accordingly once we hear from them.

The black parts are the ones Dansk supplies, the grey part(s) they don't.
My 2cts.
I have just had a twin outlet Dansk exhaust fitted to my 964 3.6, the company who sold it to me said that i should blank off the one port as my car is a single outlet and the exhaust that they sent was a twin outlet, can you advise if this is ok to do.
