Product Designer Models Chair Based on ’64 911

Miseop Woo is a Product Designer in Seoul, South Korea. Using a 1964 Porsche 911 as his inspiration, Woo designed a chair. That’s right, a chair. Not surprisingly, this isn’t the first Porsche inspired chair we’ve seen and I’m sure it won’t be the last.

At first glance I’m not sure you would look at these stackable seats and think, “hmmm, that looks like it was inspired by a 911.”

However, when you compare them in profile the resemblance is much more apparent. The front legs gracefully bend backward to mimics the look of the headlights. And while the little lip on the rear of the seat might be mistaken as a ducktail, it’s not. Instead, it clearly apes the A pillars angle and design on the 911.

While Woo doesn’t detail the construction materials, these Porsche inspired chairs appear to be lightweight, easy to carry and are definitely stackable.

Currently designed in three colors, we particularly like the Marble Grey version with the Martini Racing stripes.

No word on when, of if, these will be manufactured and how much they might cost. If this moves from design concept to production we’ll be sure to let you know.
